About Dreamers

Dreamers Childcare is our oasis for children. Immigrating in the early 2000s from Ukraine with their two small children, Igor and Oksana Klishch dreamed of creating a space for their girls' imaginations to flourish, their curiosity to be fostered, and for them to grow into empathetic and autonomous adults, with strong and confident voices. After working as a director at a center in Glenview, Oksana along with her husband and partner, Igor opened their own doors as a home daycare, Once Upon A Time in 2006. Through almost a decade, Igor and Oksana were able to provide care for countless families and establish meaningful relationships in our communities that still live today. Believing that every child and family deserves highly personal and detailed care, Oksana and Igor wanted to grow their community to reach more families in the hopes of continuing to provide excellent services through their bilingual programs, emphasis on the importance of socialization in young children, boundary settings, healthy attachment styles, and more. While true that letters, shapes, and numbers are all bones to academic achievement -- Dreamers believe that true success is rooted in experiences, the challenges conquered, friendships built, and the worlds created -- together. With all light, Dreamers Childcare at Glenview was first opened in March of 2016, followed by the opening of Dreamers Childcare at Palatine in November of 2019. Although now serving over 150+ families, Oksana and Igor's mission has not changed. Life-long learners, believe that all children, just as their own daughters years and years ago, deserve to learn about our world through laughter and the promise of a bright, golden future. Because if it's true what they say: the children are our future -- then boy, does our future look bright!

Your Questions

  • We love when new friends join our Dreamers family! First and foremost, it's important to reach out to our offices directly to inquire about space. Once space is confirmed, we require a $385 fee to secure your child's spot. Please note, that your spot is not secure until we have received your $100 non-refundable registration fee and $285 deposit. Your deposit is refundable via care only and you must provide a full four-week written warning that you are leaving our program. The $285 will be applied to your child's last and final week with us. In order for the deposit to be applied, you must be actively part of our program for a minimum of three months for this to go into effect. We accept cash, checks, and Zelle payments to the emails of: dreamerschildcare@gmail.com (Glenview) or dreamersatpalatine@gmail.com. All finances are taken care of by our owners, so if you have any questions, please reach out Mrs. Oksana Klishch directly.

  • We love when our friends join us for an extra day of fun! Unfortunately, we are not able to transfer any part-time days. We highly encourage our parents to reach out and inquire about space for an additional day through our office! If there's room, then your child can absolutely come for a day of fun! There is a rate of $100/additional day added.

  • Uh oh! Colds, bugs, and other illnesses are unfortunately part of daycare life. We strongly encourage our little friends to follow all recommendations implemented by our sickness policy; please keep your child home until they are 100% to return to their friends, provide us with a doctor's note stating that your child has been examined and determined safe to be around their friends and teachers, have open and honest conversations about the health of your child.

Dreamers works collaboratively to ensure the safety and comfort of your sweet one. If we feel as though a child may best be monitored at home, we may ask you to pick up your child. Some important things to note: a child must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school, instances of diarrhea/vomiting will require the child to be  picked up, rashes and marks will need a doctor's note stating that the child is okay to be at school. We will always reach out and update you throughout your child's day if they are beginning to seem unwell.

  • Million-dollar question! Unfortunately, there's no better trick than time. We see a variety of children who come from various backgrounds and home environments. Our toddlers typically have the hardest transition period, while our infants are usually the quickest to adapt! We know that it can be challenging for our parents to let go and we're here to support you every step of the way! Here are a few things we have seen work: parents leaving quickly and effortlessly allows the child to have a sense of closure and comfort; having shorter days but coming full-time helps the child learn a new routine without feeling overwhelmed; understanding that it may take up to a few weeks for your child to fully become immersed and comfortable in a daycare setting. If you ever feel as if the transition is growing difficult, we always encourage our parents to reach out to our office and work individually with our directors to ensure a healthy transition that benefits your child most. Maybe there's some tricks you have to share!

  • Some weeks are going to be a little more challenging or bumpy and that's okay! Your child is growing at a rapid rate and they're processing and absorbing information and the world very quickly, so emotion will range -- all of this is perfectly normal. If we feel as if your child is struggling, we will always reach out and be transparent about your child's day and create plans to move forward together.

  • We always want to make sure that we are creating safe spaces for our little ones; we also hope that conversations happening at home are being paralleled with what's happening at school; we hope to be proactive enough to notice instances of discomfort; however, if you ever feel as if your child needs a little assistance, please let us know so we can be made aware of any conflicts or issues that may arise. Bickerings amongst children is common and we hope to aid your child with tools to help them grow into autonomous individuals while simultaneously encouraging them and providing them with the mechanisms they may need. There may be also moments of miscommunication and our teachers are well aided in helping our little friends use kind language and process different kind of remarks or conversations that arise in our classrooms.

  • Our head director of our Ukrainian program works in small groups with our Ukrainian friends and introduces them to music, language, and cultural aspect of our Ukrainian heritage to further along with their growth in Ukrainian studies. Our non-Ukrainian children continue their regular schedule as our program solely prepares our students for an English-speaking-based Kindergarten curriculum. Some of our menu meals may be Ukrainian-inspired as we serve traditional dishes such as Borscht, Rocil (Chicken Noodle Soup), Buckwheat Grain, amongst others from time to time. All our friends grow to love our meals and we have rave reviews about our head chef here at Dreamers!

  • We kindly ask that no outside items, including backpacks, be brought in at this time. The only exception is for our infant friends. If you ever wish to bring in something for your child, we kindly ask that you reach out to our office and ask for guidance before proceeding; we will happily provide for items for your child within reason. We have many allergen friends and need to ensure we can keep them safe. Creams, diapers, wipes, extra clothing are all okay and may be brought in a plastic bag and your child's teachers will distribute the belongings in their proper cubbies/place.

  • We love celebrating birthdays here at Dreamers! On your child's special day, you can bring in Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins for your child to share with their class. We typically celebrate in the afternoon and each child gets between 2-3 munchkins. Please ask your child's teacher how many children are currently in your child's class to make sure there are enough birthday treats to go around! We also have party hats and party decorations!

  • Yes! We love spoiling our hard-working teachers with goodies and sweet treats.

  • We are always reachable at our email! For our Glenview friends, please reach out to dreamerschildcare@gmail.com, and for our lovely Palatine friends, we ask for you to email us at dreamersatpalatine@gmail.com. For quick updates or non-essential chats throughout your child's day, feel free to text our Dreamers iPhone number at 224 616 1630 (Glenview) or 847 496 4631 (Palatine). Anything regarding finance or serious conversations, we kindly ask that you email and the head director or owner will contact you as soon as they can.

  • What an exciting time to switch rooms and keep growing within our little Dreamers family! We always try and move our friends at proper ages; however, depending on space there may be a few weeks of staggering before we're fully able to move your child over to the next room. We will always be open in our communication and always reach out to discuss moving up rooms. If your child turns a certain age before there is space to move rooms, we will always honor the age associated with tuition so your weekly tuition may go down before your child switches classrooms.

  • Nobody knows your child better than you! You are their parent and number one; we hope to accompany a support system that creates some ease in your life and that you continuously use us as a resource in the support and growth of your sweet one! We work with various children day-to-day and meet all sorts of personalities! We know that like any relationship, it takes time and work to create a trust system and we strive to create ever-lasting friendships with our families! We hope we are able to do the same for you and yours.
